Frequently Asked Questions
-
Crossing Softly is a grief support and embodied wellness practice offering one on one grief and transition support, grounded yoga and somatic sessions, and accessible digital offerings including guided meditations and educational resources on grief and end of life care.
-
No. This work is not clinical therapy and I am not a licensed therapist. Crossing Softly offers relational, educational, and embodied care. If you are in crisis or need clinical mental health support I am happy to help you find appropriate resources.
-
Completely. You do not need any experience with grief work, yoga, or somatic practices to begin. Sessions are slow, relational, and entirely led by you. There is no right way to show up.
-
Mostly just a gentle conversation. We move at your pace, follow what feels present, and build from there. Nothing is forced and nothing is required of you except showing up as you are.
-
Sliding scale means you choose the rate within the listed range that honestly reflects your current financial situation. There is no judgment and no verification process. I trust you to know what is true for you. If even the lowest end of the scale feels out of reach please reach out directly.
-
Yes. I offer in person sessions in the Long Beach and Los Angeles area including walk and talk sessions in local parks. Online sessions are available everywhere.
-
A walk and talk session is exactly what it sounds like. We meet at a local park or outdoor space and walk side by side while we talk, breathe, and process together. Moving the body while holding difficult emotions can feel more natural and less intense than sitting face to face. Many people find it easier to open up when they are in motion and in nature.
-
A Death Café is a community gathering where people come together to talk openly about death, dying, and grief over tea or coffee. There is no agenda, no expertise required, and no pressure to share anything you are not ready to share. It is simply a space to have conversations our culture rarely makes room for.
-
Absolutely. Grief is not only about death. People come to this work carrying the loss of relationships, identities, health, possibilities, and versions of themselves they thought they would become. If you are moving through any kind of ending or transition this space is for you.
-
That is exactly what the free 30 minute consultation is for. It is a no pressure conversation where you can share what you are carrying, ask any questions you have, and feel into whether working together feels right. There is no obligation to continue.
-
Book a free 30 minute consultation and we will take it from there. If you have questions before booking you are always welcome to reach out through the contact form. There is no wrong way to begin.
